From a NexStar 11 to a remote observatory
A few years ago my dream finally became reality when I bought a NexStar 11 GPS. In the years which followed, I started to slowly accumulate all the equipment I would need and, by May 2004, the time had arrived to begin construction of my own observatory. In April 2007 the mount was upgraded and I am now the proud owner of a Paramount ME. In 2010, Nunki Observatory was updated to function completely remotely with the help of the M1OASYS automation system!
My primary astronomy interests surround deep-sky imaging and supernova hunting. In mid-2010, I joined Tim Puckett's supernova search team. I live on the beautiful island of Skiathos, gainfully employed as a “Track and Field” trainer. Enjoy your visit…

Construction of the observatory begins, after years of gathering equipment around a Celestron NexStar 11 GPS.
- April 2007
The mount is upgraded to a Software Bisque Paramount ME.
- 2010
Nunki Observatory works completely remotely with the M1OASYS automation system. In mid-2010 Nikos joins Tim Puckett's supernova search team.
- April 2012
The Officina Stellare Pro RC 400 (16″) arrives.
- June 2014
The Officina Stellare RILA 400 f/5.25 arrives; first light on M13.
